Contest duration discussion

Am I the only one who liked the shorter contests we used to have on CodinGame some time ago?
I understand the 3 hours contests were a problem due to timezones, but I think the 48 hour contests where also a fun format.
For example I think UTTT would have been a good candidate for a short contest, while BOTG could have been longer.
So I like SaiksyApo’s idea to have contests duration matching the game.

I don’t like 4 hours contests (i remember There’s no spoon for example). But i liked 48h contests. sf2442 was very fun :stuck_out_tongue:

It may have something to do with the 25k-1M prize pools.

Kaggle prize pool is typically divided between top3 teams and vast majority of people, even in top2-5%, have no chance of getting it. I’ve taken part in about a dozen contests and prize pool never even crossed my mind. In fact I don’t think I know anyone who takes part in kaggle because of the prize pool, even though some of them have finished as high as #4 in high profile contests.
