Fantastic Bits Score Calculation

Hello!

I’m sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask this question, but I wasn’t sure where else to ask it. How are the scores calculated? They’re around the 20’s and 30’s but I don’t get how they are calculated.

Also, the ranks/scores are really volatile. I submitted the same solution 3 times in 10 minutes, and received ranks ranging from 150 all the way to 90, and back to 130. Is this normal?

Thank you

The rank is calculated using TrueSkill.

There is a small variance in early league as we run less matches, so a lot of people can have a quick estimation of their bot.

In upper league, we add some matches, so the ranking is less volatile but take more time.

You need to wait enough so that your ranking is stabilized. 3 times in 10 minutes looks a lot.

I did wait for the final rank to be calculated, after which I saw such variations. 3 times in 10 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration, I just did it one after another to test how much it would fluctuate. What is TrueSkill?

Also, is there any option to pit our game against another CodinGamer’s? Can we specify who we want to play against?

Thank you!

Here is the wiki of Trueskill: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueSkill
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/project/trueskill-ranking-system/

You can select a player in the IDE, just hit the “delete” buton in the bottom left corner under the BOSS or DEFAULT AI and pick the player you want to play against

Ah, yes. Thank you so much for the help!
Also, is this the right way to ask any more questions I might have?

Yes, that’s the best way, we can read it anytime and it’s not lost in the chat.

Related to this, when new bosses for higher leagues are scheduled?

Today  (usually around 9am pst and then every two days)
