Please make it possible for moderatos to add test cases to community puzzles

sometimes some community puzzle’s test cases lack some rare cases when a program can crash, but validators’re checking that case, so u can get 100% on test cases, and a fail or two on validators
it should be fixed

I think the moderators would need the ability to at least view the contents of the validators so they can check for things that might have been overlooked during review, even after the puzzle has been accepted.

(Yeah I know, possible exploit for we moderators, etc, be nice and assume we’re not going to use it right? :))

I must confess i already used this exploit. I was trying to do a community puzzle but my code was not able to pass a validator so i just checked it directly.

And the problem was the same as many, many, many puzzles : The validator was containing a specific situation, unseen in the IDE test cases. It can be a big problem.

On the other side, if you give the rights to moderators to see / add / edit validators for community puzzle, we should not be able to earn any experience from community puzzles. It would be pretty unfair.

It can be optional. So that by default, moderator does not see validators, but he can opt-in to see them, thus losing experience that he/she would get from solving the puzzle (but, possibly, getting some XP for editing the puzzle?). Besides, it could be that moderator opts-in to see/edit/add validators after he/she solved the puzzle.

I don’t think any XP should be restricted so a strict subset of the CG population.

I do agree with you, but it’s already the case in some sense. For example, XP gained for beating a league in a multi contest can not be gained for players who didn’t play this contest.

or first solve a puzzle being a mod, then u’ll be able to edit test cases\validators

Not the same to me. Contests are open, taking part is a choice.

not for those who came to CG after a contest ended

This issue could be resolved by awarding league XPs only once in the pair contest - multiplayer puzzle. This means that if a person reached golden league in Smash The Code contest, that person does not receive the XPs for reaching golden league in Smash The Code multiplayer again (and this seems fair to me).

Actually, it is possible to see if you save the direct link to the submission page. I do this now for all community puzzles that are accepted, so that I can better respond to questions.
