Yeah, the difficulty level might not have been assigned appropriately (in either direction, overstated or understated) for some puzzles, but hopefully those are exceptions rather than the norm.
Well done!
Your badge is not cheap, we always have to begin somewhere. I recommend you to to try to solve the problem without brute force if you are mathematically inclined and find the question interesting, because you learn more that way, but otherwise congrats!
I’m having similar issue to a couple above - passing all test cases but failing validator #6 - ‘Potassium tetrachloroplatinate’. I’ve tried the suggested additional custom tests which all seemed to work ok. Any help / tips / further tests would be greatly appreciated.
If you want, you may send me your code in private message and I’ll see how I may help you.
thanks 5DN1L - I’ve sent code through now (hopefully - if I got private messaging right)
I continuousely fail third validator Calcium Hydroxide.
I don’t know how input for this validotor looks like and there is no similar Test case befor submit solution.
From internet I found that Calcium Hydroxide equation should be
CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2
but from puzzle desciption there is written:
“The equation string will only contain letters, numbers, spaces, and the symbols for plus and an arrow. [A-Za-z0-9±> ] There will be no parenthesis.”
Does anyone know Calcium Hydroxide equation should looks like without parenthesis
No parenthesis indeed, as the author chose to represent the compound as CaO2H2 instead of Ca(OH)2
And the compound appears on the left side of the equation instead of the right side. (Cannot give you the whole equation here in public because validators should remain hidden.)
Thanks. I found a bug in my solution. Strange that it fails before only in this test.
