For people who stuck at test 3 “Large number of scientists”, please check if the next computer has the smaller duration. For example, computer No.999155 has duration is 318, but computer No.999165 only have duration is 5.
medium puzzle not hard puzzle. the only difficulty is on the sort no easy in all the language.

Like others said, it’s about 95% figuring out what to do and only 5% coding. Picking the algorithm is basically the entire challenge - and, apparently, some even got away with a simple heuristic. Well - if it works, it works!
Good puzzle.
But I want to parrot the sentiment of others.
This is not a ‘hard’ puzzle. Even the completion rate for users is high.
I think because it’s labeled hard, you begin over thinking it.
Treat it like a medium puzzle or even challenging easy puzzle, and you’ll solve it quick.
I did 5 or 6 hard puzzles already, but this one I really don’t get it even after 12 hours.
For some brain (like mine) that is very not obvious…
A friend gave me the solution, that is dumb, maybe the puzzle designer didn’t thought of it neither.
If you are lucky and think the good way that is easy, else that is a nighmare
