What do you think about a new event ?
A week each month (but not during an ongoing challenge), a selected bot fight (for example the one with the least people) to enable more people playing the same bot fight in the same time 
I think it happened once before, featuring Cultist Wars in that event.
CodinGame is going to focus on site development later this year, and welcomes suggestions currently. Go ahead and post yours in the #feature-request channel on Discord

There have been less formal events where people simply agreed to fight on a given multi for 10 days without any CG involvement. At the end, the global leaderboard was used for the ranking.
You could start a poll within CG Discord for these type of self organized events. There are multis with very few people that deserve more attention.
