Yet another language coming at us in a neat packaging! It is called Pharo and claims a strong Smalltalk heritage. It won’t necessarily replace C++ tomorrow, but it comes along with a dedicated MOOC (already started, but registration are still open) and seems a great opportunity to discover the OOP without too much prior background in programming. As a bonus (for some of us at least), the MOOC is in french (with english subtitles) since Pharo originates from INRIA and other french universities. This way, if you don’t speak french, it will be as fun as watching Dora the Explorer…
